YeeeeeeHaaaaaaahhhh!!!! and WeeeeeeeDoggiiieeeeee!!!!

It snowed last night. That is a major event in these here parts. It wasn’t a ton of snow, but it was a couple of inches of pure powder, on a bed of hail and frozen rain. The wind has created some cool snow drifts…almost had six inches piled up against my front door. I actually had to use our snow shovel that we brought with us from Utah. Because there are not any snow plows for 300 miles, the roads were extremely treacherous this morning. What is normally a 15 minute commute turned out to be a 40 minute commute. Fortunately, most of my students waited around for me. Because temperatures are actually supposed to stay cold, the snow should be around for a couple of days versus a couple of hours. It’s too bad that it is not wet enough to make a snowman.

I bet the kids were excited! I hope your muscles recovered from the big football game before you had to shovel.

cari- the kids were jumping up and down when they woke up this morning. What was cool is that they got to wear their new snow boots that we bought in an after season close-out [$2.00/pair].

Also, they shut the university down early today because of the roads.....go figure. Perhaps everyone needs to experience at least one winter in a "winter" state so they can learn how to survive a 2" skiff.

I would gladly send you all of the snow in Utah. Growing up here all my life, I've never like the stuff. I will think it your way and make us both happy!

It looks like your little storm swept across the Midwest, a'wreckin' havoc. At least your younguns had a chance to enjoy themselves.

That's funny about the university closing down because of 2" of snow. Even without snowplows, most people should be able to get around in 2" of snow.

Compulsive- We were mocked for bringing the snow shovel before we left and mocked by those who helped us unpload.

Mayday- Now your thinking what I'm thinking

Pappy- Because of the cold temperatures and the inability to remove the snow from the roads, the roads were icy. Still funny though.

I was so excited when it snowed! We don't get A LOT of that here in the Southern states. The university I work at actually closed for 1 1/2 days! That is when you know it's 'really bad for these parts'. YAY!
