Help! I’ve Been Tagged and Can’t Get Past Go.

Thanks to a certain fellow blogger who will remain anonymous, but for the sake of the conversation I will refer to her as Sister P. No . . . S. Pottymouth. She has tagged my blog which means I have to list 5 things people probably do not know about me and then I have to tag 5 other people. My problem is- I do not know 5 other bloggers. But in the spirit of semi-good humor, here is my list:

1. I know where the Bedrock mall is and have actually been there.

2. Turtle taste good. Just don’t ask me how to prepare it.

3. Like the person who tagged me, I have never been snow skiing even though I spent almost 30 years in Utah.

4. When I was 10, I performed during halftime at a BYU basketball game.

5. I have been to Hogwarts Castle.

For Compulsive Writer and anyone else: Perhaps this act of kindness will get me out of "tagged" mode. ;-)

Allow me to demonstrate my ignorance: what is the Bedrock mall? I've never heard of it. And do you mean THE Hogwarts Castle? Elaborate on that one, please. I'm a big HP fan.

Oh...and don't you mean "past go" instead of "passed go"?

Julie,

Touché. Yes, even though I am an English major, I often make simple mistakes.

First question: The Bedrock mall is in the town of Bedrock. The town of Bedrock is in southwest Colorado next to Paradox. It really isn't a mall. It's part of an insider's joke because it is only and the only general store in Bedrock.

Second question: The Hogwarts castle is really in northeast England called Alnwick. Of course the castle itself has been "CGed" by computers to alter its appearance (most of the "inside" of the school scenes are pieced together images from old schools scattered over England.) The Duke of Alnick family has lived in that castle for hundreds of years. They occupy the castle during the winter months.

The Hogwarts Castle. Who knew? And from one English major to another...will you please teach me how to italicize in blog? You know there are some words that are just screaming to be italicized.

As for your mall shopping, have you ever been to "the mall" in Monument Valley?

I like that you stole that first part of your post from Pride and Prejudice, the mormon version. "I'll refer to her as E. Bennet, no, Elizabeth B.
Kills me everytime! Especially when she chucks the hymn book at him!

Compulsive,

It is nearly impossible for me to explain how to use HTML code in a "post a message" box because the moment I type any HTML code to use as an example, it becomes embedded code in my message that you would never be able to see once I publish the message. I can explain it through email, where the code will remain visible. lylekhayes@yahoo.com

Becks,

That is my favorite part of the movie and I'm glad that you caught the connection.

Compulsive,

Sorry, never been to the mall in Monument Valley. Which is strange because I've been just about everywhere else in the region. Probably because I was never the one in charge of making the "stopping to check things out" when I was in and around the area.

Thanks for the html instructions. I'll bet my 14-year-old could do it (my six-year-old can run circles around me on the computer some days). I brought up "the mall" at Monument Valley because it is another mall that is not a mall. It's this stretch of dirt road in the middle of nowhere that has a whole bunch of vendors set up to sell Indian crafts and food. It's not cheap, but the craftsmanship is beautiful and its more about the experience--the whole thing seems a bit anachronistic.

Oh, and I almost forgot, Compulsive writer is extremely grateful for the bit of instruction. As you can see, I'm really technologically challenged--it took me three times to get it right.

Compulsive,

I know what you mean. My daughter was learning about Power Point in third grade. How am I supposed to keep up and compete with this generation.

Congradulaions on entering the realm of HTML. :-)

Congratulations, Lyle, on hitting double digit comments. It's a great feeling, isn't it? :-)

I'd celebrate the double digits benchmark if I knew what the proper protocol was for reaching your first double digits. :-(

But thanks for the congratulatory remarks.
