The Dream, from your A Change of Heart album, has been my favorite from the first time I heard in when I was working as a custodian at Dixon Middle School during the summer of 1987. My friend (Tim Rand) who also worked there, was a Jazz musician who loved to play the saxophone, and always aspired to be like you and hit those amazingly hard to hit high notes. Readers….do whatever it takes to listen to this song. Start surfing the net…Launch Cast, I-Tunes, Napster…whatever. Listen to it. Spend $.99 to own it, cherish it, relish in it, use it to serenade your lover. I don’t care if you don’t like Jazz. You will not be able to resist liking this song. If you are truly abnormal and do not like this song because you were dropped one too many times as a child then I will buy you a Happy Meal at McDonalds to make you happy.
No matter how down I may be, this song has the ability to sooth my troubled soul. When I am happy, the song makes me happier. It is medicine for the heart, mind, and soul.
One of the greatest moments of my youth was listening to this song, relaxing on the overly padded carpet of Tim’s bedroom, while eating jumble berry cheesecake and washing it down with ice cold milk.

You can get the song on the iTunes music store, but you can get the whole album for under $8. It is a bargain - Sanborn is one of my favs too, though his late 80's stuff was a little too "urban contemporary" and too little "jazz", but still fab, yes, still fab.
Okay - so I re-read my previous comment and if I didn't know me, I would think that ol' Jake was lying and really wasn't such a great fan of Dave Sanborn.
Let me try again - Sanborn is among the greatest saxaphonists around. Even his "worst" album is about 10 times better than anything release by say, Kenny G...
And cheesecake with berries and cold milk - don't mind if I do.

Jake- yes, I should have also mentioned that you can get the entire album for under $8.00, but I figured the peeps would be less afeared spending $.99 than $8.00 for a chance to enjoy some wonderful music, or a Happy Meal.
I will say that the new "30 sec" clips from Launch Cast don't do enough justice to the song.

Not much of a jazz music fan but you are right, that was worth listening to. And there goes my chance for a Happy Meal, now I'll never be happy. :( Don't mind me, I'll just be crying in my rootbeer.
well, either my readers are too busy listening to their new David Sanborn song, or they are too embarassed to admit they deserve a happy meal.
