What Do Mothers and Flowers Have in Common?

This was the question that was asked in primary just the other day. After a few of the other kids gave their responses:

They’re both pretty.
They both smell good.
There’s a Mother’s day song about moms and flowers.

My oldest, M, pipes up and says…
They would both attract caterpillars if my dad was a caterpillar because he’s attracted to my mom.

Sounds like a great kid!

Just wanted to say I read your comment on C Jane's most recent Segullah post about the Mormon documentary, and I really loved what you said.

I hope you're all safe with all the bad weather in your area of the country! Be safe!

I guffawed out loud. Smart kid, that one.

If it were one of my unruly spawn, they'd compare me to the caterpillar because of my furry, wiggly eyebrows.

And then my snarky oldest would chime in and say, "My mom's definitely like a Flower. You know that skunk in Bambi named Flower? That's her!"

Because of irreverent responses, our Primary President has learned to keep things more rhetorical and less participatory!

Three things:
1. Love that little kid of yours!

2. I wish I had my own caterpillar...

3. Ditto on what Meta said about Segullah. When I read your concise commentary I realized I didn't need to say anything. That was IT.

Happy Flower's Day to you and yours.
