Open Letter to the Post Master General [can you be demoted, or it that a life sentence?]

Through rain, snow, sleet, or…what was the rest of it? Well apparently, you forgot to mention that except when your crew is feeling lazy. My better half was expecting a very important package today from the post office. It was one of them there packages that require a signature in order to receive said package. Which also involves the mailperson to actually get out of their steering wheel is on the wrong side vehicle, walk up to your door, knock [ring the doorbell], and wait for a response, so the intended recipient can actually do their part in signing for the item in question [for which extra money was paid out,… to have the mailperson make it all the way to the door]. My dear, sweet wife was home all day, only to find in our mailbox…the note. The note from the post office informing her that “Sorry we missed you, now you have to come to us to get your package” note. So not happy! So not cool.

Yours truly,

I believe that happens so often. It infuriates me! I am truly sorry.

grrrrr! No excuse for that.

ps, remember when Newman didn't feel like delivering the mail because it was raining? That's one of my favorite scenes.

Ooooohhh, I hate that! I don't know if they do this in NE but here in MT, if the driver has to make any difficult manuvering to get directly in front of your mailbox, they leave a nasty note in your mailbox telling you to move whatever is in the way or else. Get out for once! It's not like that happens at our house with any amount of frequency!

I KNEW it! They've done it to me before . . . however, just today our kind letter carrier trudged through the snow to bring me one of "them there packages." So, I must forgive for the time being.

Good luck next time.

P.S. I can hear the voices in my head, "HELlo Jerry." "HELlo Newman . . ." Thanks for the laugh.

There are places in our city which, I believe because of laziness, are still zoned as 'rural routes'... Meaning that the mail person does not have to get out of their vehicle to bring such packages, they can leave a note in your box and move on their way.

She even had a chat with the delivery person the next day...because our house sits on a route that is still fairly, new, they have more than one part-timer who does our route and this guy was not about to take the blame...but he did apologize for whoever it may have been.

Oh well! you can't win them all...and they do do their job most of the time.
